Pigeon End User License Agreement

This agreement is between you and Trelab Studio ("we", "us"), the developer of Pigeon. It covers the Pigeon desktop application, its updates and its documentation (together, "the Software"). By installing, copying or running the Software you accept this agreement. If you do not accept it, do not use the Software.

1. License

Pigeon Free. We grant you a personal, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, royalty-free license to install and use the Software on any number of devices, for personal and commercial work.

Pigeon Pro. Features marked Pro require a license key bought from us or our reseller. A Pro license is for one named person, who may use it on the devices they work on. It includes the updates we release during the update period stated at purchase (12 months unless stated otherwise). After that period you may keep using the last version released within it; newer versions need a renewal. Purchase, payment and taxes are handled by our reseller (merchant of record) under the terms shown at checkout. You may ask for a full refund within 30 days of purchase, without giving a reason; the license key then stops being valid.

2. Restrictions

You may not:

  1. sell, rent, lease or sublicense the Software, or share a Pro license key. You may give unmodified copies of Pigeon Free to others free of charge, including through your organisation's internal file shares or software catalogue, as long as this agreement and the third-party notices stay included;
  2. modify the Software, or reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except to the extent the law applicable to you allows this despite this restriction;
  3. remove or bypass the license key check, or remove copyright and license notices;
  4. use the Software to break the law or to access systems you are not authorised to access.

3. Ownership

The Software is licensed, not sold. We and our licensors keep all rights, title and interest in it, including all intellectual property rights. Everything not expressly granted here is reserved.

4. Your data

The collections, environments, cookies, certificates and other files you create stay on your device in an open format; we have no access to them. You may keep using and exporting them after this agreement ends. The Software sends no telemetry. The portable builds make one anonymous request at start-up to check for a new version, which you can turn off in Settings. Details are in the privacy policy on the Pigeon website.

5. Third-party software

The Software contains open-source components licensed under their own terms, which take precedence for those components. Their notices are listed in Settings → About → Third-party notices and in the file THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt shipped with the Software.

6. Updates

We may release updates but are not obliged to. The Software only tells you when an update exists; it never installs one without your action, except for builds from the Microsoft Store, which the Store updates.

7. No warranty

The Software is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. You are responsible for the requests you send with it and for checking its results.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or business, arising from the use of or inability to use the Software. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Software in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 10 if you paid nothing. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; there they apply only as far as allowed.

9. Termination

This agreement ends automatically if you breach it. You must then stop using the Software and delete your copies. Sections 3, 4, 7, 8 and 10 survive termination.

10. General

This agreement is governed by the laws of Vietnam, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. We may publish a new version of this agreement for future versions of the Software; the version shipped with a release applies to that release. Questions: [email protected].
