Privacy policy

Last updated: 5 October 2026

Pigeon is a desktop HTTP client that works without an account. This policy covers the Pigeon app (portable Windows build, Microsoft Store build and macOS build) and this website.

Data in the app stays on your device

No accounts, no telemetry

Pigeon has no sign-in and sends no usage statistics, analytics or crash reports.

Update check

The portable Windows and macOS builds check for a newer version a few seconds after starting: one anonymous HTTPS request for the release list (latest.json) on our download server, with the user agent Pigeon/<version>. The download server is hosted on Cloudflare, which receives your IP address as with any web request (see the Cloudflare privacy policy); we keep no logs of it. Nothing is downloaded or installed automatically. You can turn the check off in Settings → General → Updates.

The Microsoft Store version does not run this check; updates are handled by the Microsoft Store.

Downloads

Installers are downloaded from our download server (hosted on Cloudflare) or the Microsoft Store, under their own privacy policies.

This website

This website is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking scripts. Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the pages and protect against abuse (see the Cloudflare privacy policy).

Children

Pigeon is a developer tool and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new date.
